Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot)

VP
5

**What does your team actually use this for day-to-day?** Pardot is a powerful workhorse. If your CRM is SFDC and you have a B2B business, nothing compares to the native integration. Others say they can, but it's not true. SFDC Campaigns and Pardot Campaigns align, making reporting and attribution far easier than with competitors. Is it the simplest tool? No. Does it have bells and whistles? No. It's without a doubt behind the times, but it's still light-years ahead of many other platforms. It's reliant on who manages and oversees it. **How quickly do they respond when something is actually on fire?** Customer support, just like any other platform within the Salesforce ecosystem, is absolutely terrible. **Were their docs enough, or did you have to reverse-engineer it?** Docs are abysmal. However, others have filled in the gaps, including Salesforce Ben and The Spot for Pardot as well as the Pardashian Slack community. **Where does it become painful or slow your team down?** If you don't have any technical marketers, it will slow you down. It's fully customizable for all skill sets, but it requires proper implementation, governance, and management, which makes it more painful than some of its competitors. **What's the one thing it genuinely does better than alternatives you've tried?** The Salesforce-to-Pardot (Account Engagement) connection is unbeatable. **One-line verdict for someone evaluating it for daily use.** While legacy, it still has features other MAPs/ESPs dream of. If you're a Salesforce house and B2B, it's a no-brainer at scale thanks to its robust capabilities. However, it requires expertise to oversee it efficiently and correctly, with at least one competent marketing operations leader to ensure high fidelity.
